Altered Cheque

Posted in Uncategorized on Jan 29th, 2010, 11:25 am by yenjai..

Received a call from Public Bank this morning: I would like to confirm a cheque

After she spelled out the name, I was like: Huh? Who?

Immediately I realized someone had altered my cheque! The amount was unaltered though.

This is the image I got from the bank.

altered cheque

See how he blatantly wrote his name and his IC number on it.

Now I would have to visit the police station. Damn. Really KNS.

From now on, I guess I would only use Interbank GIRO transfer.

i read the similar scam like this in news paper. they will recruit naive ppl, use their account for and later either withdraw the money or transfer to other accounts until you can trace it to them.. and they pay those so called naive victim some commission…
wong sai kong is not the person who did that.. their r much smarter than that!

maybe you should check with the original payee. Since u mentioned that the amount is has not been altered, i believe that u have given the check to the person without writing his name on it. That person may have gave the check to this sk wong.

leyaw, the cheque was intended for my loan. Thus I have definitely written the name of the bank on the cheque, and no, I did not give it to anyone. I sent it!

Ya, it is safer to GIRO or personally deposit at bank ATM rather than send thru post
