I know quite a few of us have reservation about the efficiency of MEPS banking in Malaysia.

Some of us actually stay away from MEPS, insisting to withdraw money from the ‘original’ bank, to avoid being charged the transaction fee.
All these, are part of Malaysian life.
What I could not understand is:
If your spouse had an accident, bleeding and lying in a clinic, receiving dressing and suture
Don’t you think if there is a bank opposite the clinic, you would just withdraw your money from the ATM as fast as possible?
Your aim should always be to be beside your spouse, right?
It did not appear so.
Quite a few of those spouses refused to withdraw their money from such ATM machine.
They insist to go to their intended bank, regardless of how far the bank was located, or even if they have to search for such bank.
One husband even lost his way, and only manage to find his way back after 45 minutes!
Malaysian mentality is hard to fathom, at times.

sometimes, human behavior is too complex to understand. like why some ppl like to cincai park their cars but parking spaces are aplenty?
Could be those people don’t have money in the bank. They go and get it from someone and make up some story to save face.
i also sometimes vr itchified ngeh ngeh wanna go back to the original bank…
then kena nagged then only keep quiet and go to MEPS…LOL
Maybe it’s because of the fear that the card may “kena telan” for whatever reasons. It is easier to deal with if it is at the original bank. Our experience in Singapore recently was we tried to withdraw from an ATM, not our banks because HSBC ATM is hard to find there, and for some weird reason, the machine rejected our request and told us to contact our bank. It turned out that it was only that particular ATM that was messing up.
they wanna avoid being charged but most of d time, they forgotten that d price they have to pay, driving arnd searching for their intended bank would probably be higher than the charges imposed by d bank.
my question is, your clinic don’t accept credit card or electronic payment?
agree fully with SH. penny wise, pound foolish.
