My tooth … again

I had been procrastinating on the issue of implant since my last visit to Prof Ong.

Sadly, I noticed a swelling around my wisdom tooth last month. A visit to my endodontics surgeon confirmed my fear: my wisdom tooth had cracked, and was beyond salvation.

With a massive amount of palpitation (sleepless night thrown in), finally I went to visit Prof ST Ong today.

tooth implant

Looking at my x-ray, she suggested: Would you consider orthodontic procedure to ‘align’ all your tooth?

At the back of my head, I could clearly imagined my wife saying: Your teeth are already in bad shape. No need for such extravaganza.

Then we proceeded to talk about my infected tooth. The obvious conclusion: Cabut lah.

Sigh.

She took a good look at the x-ray again, then switched to a cautionary tone : There are quite a few teeth which show signs of infection. I need to get them looked at before we talk about implant.

I asked: Can we remove the tooth today?

She looked at me, smiled, then asked playfully: Are you prepared, mentally?

Truthfully? I was only expecting to get some answers today, not quite ready to undergo it. Then again, to make an appointment for a tooth extraction later would seemed idiotic. No having much choice, I answered: Lets proceed.

After some minutes, I emerged from the room, alive, but light headed.

Another chapter in my life : Another tooth gone.

While people will say: Just look ahead
I would say: Another step down the imminent path of implant (and possibly root canal treatment for another couple of teeth)

Also extracted or operated on my wisdom tooth at Dental Low..
The Dr was rough & used all his might & gadgets to pull it, but surprisingly, it was not pain at all..
looked like Dr didn’t take care of his teeth since young..ha ha
