Why the sudden interest in it?
I believe my maid has this special gift. She can communicate with her family members in Indonesia with such … channel.
She does not send any letter to her house, nor does she try to call home. Once, during Hari Raya, we did help to call her mum but the call did not get through.
Even with this ‘lack of communication’, she seems to know what is happening with her family members. Just a month ago, she suddenly tell us: My brother is trying to set up a business, thus I need to send some money home.
Who are we to stop her? Obligingly we ask for more information at the local bank.
The bank reply: Make sure the information of the recipient is correct. Any error will cost you almost one third of the fund.
We passed the information to her. She had decided not to proceed. After a couple of days with no further request, we thought we had managed to lay this matter to rest.
We were proven wrong! A month later, she came to my wife (again) and produced a name: This name had been verified. The money would be transferred to her.
We only managed to look at each other in complete perplexity.
How did she manage such a feat?
Maybe she’s sending Morse code to the maid next door, or maybe she’s going online in your house?
