Got a phone call at 2.30pm for a class reunion at 7.30pm
After considering for a few minutes, I decided to close the clinic one hour early to attend the reunion. I mean, the opportunity to meet up with friends whom I have not met for the last 19 years is really … not to be missed.
When I first entered the restaurant, the first impression I got was … after 19 years, everyone simply looked the same! (minus some gray hair or receding hairline.) I had no trouble calling out their names even. (Really proud of myself there!)
Obviously, I was shocked when they started “introducing” themselves. Everyone seemed to be in such high positions. In simple terms, they had really ‘gone far’ in their careers. But looking back, I should have expected this. Didn’t I knew that my classmates were going to excel, even when they were only 18 years old then?
After we get down to the chit chat, I really like this kind of … atmosphere. We could talk openly about everything, without needing to worry about offending each other. Regardless of how important they are now, we still poked fun at each others as if we were kids.
We really should meet more often!
