Wife is trying to buy a notebook.

After some searching, I guess we pretty much set our eyes on

      Good spec. Try to get more than 1GB of ram. How much is it?

      Honestly if you ask me (which you didn’t hehe), I’d rather go with Dell. I’ve known of Compaq pocket PCs to mysteriously fail to function after one year, but I’m not sure about their laptops. And 2GB RAM should be the minimum, especially if you are running Vista. Also if you can wait, hold on until PC fair when you can get a better deal or promotion package.

      it is so darn user-friendly!

      you may have hard time to install XP into this notebook, because the SATA HARDDISK.

      I’m still using a Compaq notebook myself. The hard disk failed within 1 year; free replacement as it was still under warranty. Vertical lines started appearing on the display after 2 years. Otherwise, it’s been a reliable machine. :)
