That is a photo of my secondary school, Sam Tet, Ipoh.
Why am I suddenly looking at that photo?
When I was walking with a tray of food yesterday in Midvalley food court, my son trotting beside me, suddenly a man appeared and asked: Do you recognize me?
Looking at his face, I really has no recollection at all of having met this man in the past. (Not that my memory of any faces is anything to boast of)
I almost walked off when his voice triggered something in my memory and a name leaped into my mind! He was my secondary schoolmate!
Taking a second look at his face, no wonder I could not recognized him at all. He looked so different from the image in my mind. I mean, we are talking about 18 years of gap. That was how much time had disappeared from the time we last said goodbye to each other.
More amazingly, was how my brain could kept a register of his voice imprint. Just by his few words, it could immediately linked the voice to his name. Talk about wonders of life.

Didn’t know you’re from Ipoh!
Adino, oh?
You didn’t know?
I can still recognize faces but names..forget it!
Meeting old people the feeling is good or not ?
Normally I can only recognize faces but not names too.. hahaha.. same like wuching le.
Looks like a very nice school.
wuching, I can’t even recognise the face
Not much of resemblance to that 18 year old kid I used to know
Somehow, the voice just triggered my memory
keeyit
Obviously it feel nice
mumsgather
Oh, it is a really nice school
Wahhh…what milk powder u consume masa budak kecik ar?..hahaha..at least u can still recognise the voice when u kenot recognise the face. There are some ppl hor…name ke , face ke or voice… tak boleh identify langsung.Dun say 18 yrs la..18 minutes also can forget liao..
eve, I don’t even know what milk powder I drank when I was young
You think I should ask my mum?
LOL
wah
18 minutes …
talking about yourself?
wah, 18 years! and he still can remember u at a glance. u nvr change much arr?
cbenc12, I am amazed too
But that seemed to be the truth
Most of my friend can recognized me within an instant, even after more than 20 years of lapse of contact
A girl student of 18 would have blossomed into a sphisticated lady after 18 years. My point being that it is easier to recognise guys compared to girls, agree?
just me, to certain extend yeah
But I think I would still be able to recognise the voice
ah..good la.. means u never changed since 18 years ago? stil very hensem.
sasha, wa
now you also learn to speak with bones
i can still recognise most of my old classmates, cos most of us didn’t change much
chen, wow, you are good
