Taking Risk

Sometimes, you will see those gentle looking won’t-cross-the-road-without-looking-three-times won’t-sleep-at-night-without-switching-on-multi-tier-alarm ladies taking a huge risk in their life. They take such a huge risk that makes bungee jumping from KLCC seems like eating tao fu far.

What did they do, you will ask?

One good example will be the young lady who visited me 3 days back.

Lady: Doctor, I feel so weak. I had been vomiting for the whole 24 hours. Can you do something?

Doctor: What happened?

Lady: Just vomiting lar.

Doctor: Lady, please. If you don’t tell me what happened, how can I help you?

Lady: err… you know hor … 2 days ago, I had stomachache.

Doctor: And then?

Lady: My colleague gave me a pill. She said it is good for stomachache.

Doctor: Did you know what is the name of the pill? Any label on it?

Lady: No. I didn’t ask. She said it is a good pill.

Doctor (cold sweat): You took the pill, without knowing anything about it, without knowing if she had even took it before, without knowing where she got it from?

Lady (blushing): It didn’t occur to me to ask.

Doctor: So you end up vomiting for the whole of next day?

Lady: Yup. Can you stop it?

Doctor: Did you call up your friend to ask the name of that pill?

Lady (sheepishly): I asked. She said she does not know, as she got it from another friend.

Doctor: *rolleyes*

Why would someone took such a huge risk? Don’t they know that it is reaaaaaallllly risky doing that?
