I was from Ipoh.
We can safely generalised that most schools in Ipoh do not have a big field for their sports event.
Thus we always cramp all the activities onto the teeny weeny school field.
Fast forward 30 years. We sent our son to his sports day.
Fuiyoh. It was held in the MBPJ stadium.
It was such a huge field. What a different environment.
In Singapore, many schools hold their Sports Day in stadiums too. Waste of taxpayer money. Why need such a grand scale?
ps… hotel room so laku in KL and Malacca, fully booked!
ECL, for chinese school here, most of the fund comes directly from the parents
The decision of where to held such event is decided purely through PTA
The government doesn’t subsidize even enough to buy chairs
So, tax payer money doesn’t come into picture
Haha. I told you liao. Don’t try to book hotel during peak season in Malaysia
Only lead to disappointment
(I tried to book a room in A Famosa for 22 June. I booked on 1 May, and the answer is : wow, last room)

Eh? I thot Ipoh School got big fields mah! Aiya… I don’t understd the need to have sports day in stadium… Not like got so many events happening at the same time!
