We were walking towards the car park after some hours of shopping.
My son suddenly pointed at a crowd: Lets go see what’s happening.
Apparently there was a stall at the lounge, displaying some snakes and frogs within some cages.
The Indian man proudly proclaimed: Rare reptiles on display, in the exhibition hall. Entrance fees Rm8 for adult and Rm4 for children
As I was already dead tired after the hours of ‘wandering’, I just give an excuse to my wife: It is reptile. Snakes and frogs. Nothing interesting. Not worth going in. We will wait for some exhibition of cats / dogs / birds / fishes.
When I reached home and lie cozily in bed, it suddenly struck me: Was I too judgemental? Am I wrongly imposing my own preferences onto my kid? Shouldn’t I teach my kid to be open minded?
Sigh. Tough being a parent.
