I remember when we first read about this plane years ago, we had gone all hoo-haa over F-117.
What not to be excited about? An attack plane which has stealth technology.
Fit for science-fic novels. (I guess quite a few such volumes had been written)
So it is rather a shock to me when I read that the plane is going for retirement.
It will be replaced by F22 Raptor.
Has it been so many years ago? Am I that old?

F-117 very difficult to fly leh (wah sound like pilot). When I play in the flight sims, always have to hide like hantu-hantu tikus-tikus. You don’t have any air-to-air capabilities, and the moment you open your bomb bay doors, all the surrounding MiGs or Sukhois or whatever will detect you on radar and start shooting at you and then you cannot escape.
So slow and sluggish. You know you always have to fly a certain way (that means cannot do stunt)? Otherwise all those stealth features wont work. I think F-117 stealth works by deflecting radar waves away.
Some more all the missions take place at night one… so dark cannot see anything so always either crash or bomb the wrong people.
F-22s are much better. Got stealth, got speed, got air-to-air, and most important of all it can do a lot of stunts.
so now can buy cheap cheap liao. eh, you & I go buy one each okay? 2 for 1 sale wor! wait till I get bigger garage first!
