Slippers Placement

This is in reply to Eastcoastlife post on How To Ward off Spirit in Hotel

Specifically, she talked about “how to place slippers in hotel to ward off spirit”.

place slippers to ward off spirit in hotel

Please don’t ask me whether I believed in such thing.

I just reiterate what I have heard in the past ( I guess everyone knows Penang / Ipoh has the most of such superstitions)

1) If you are placing the slippers near the door, make sure the slippers are facing each other. Then the spirit can’t follow you in / out

2) Never place slippers near your bed. It will be like a magnet to those …

3) All slippers are not to be arranged nicely, especially like the one in photo. Arranging them opposite each other will be best. Simply kick the slippers all over the place is consider a good practise! in this, I guess male will outperform female.

p/s ECL. No offend hor. Just saying what I heard. If it contradict who you say, sorry ar.

I heard another version, if your slippers are facing each other, the “thingy” will know you scare of them, and they will come to you…

I worked in hotel for 8+ years and my wife also work man years too, we stay in many hotels locally & overseas, if you don’t believe such thing, then nothing will happen to you.

    Really.

Also, we’ve heard many stories of some hotel will reserved some rooms for the special “guest”, I can tell you that those stories are not true (as least for the hotels that we worked for)

Frankly speaking, whenever I check in to the hotel room, first thing come into my mind is the hotel security, NOT ghost.

Trust me, hotel theft is more serious. But many people don’t pay attention to it.

    *comes charging with parang*
So many versions. I clarified with my Taiwanese Fengshui master. My slippers are placed wrongly. It should be one facing up, one facing down and at the end of the bed, not side or near door.

I kena scolding because ‘no ear to listen’. 没耳朵听! hehe….

I twoot him back, I didn’t get molested by ghost ah! 我没被鬼压啊!

So mafun, next time I carry cross and bible with me lah!

I didn’t know Ipoh has the most superstitious people… :D

well, I haven’t heard of the slipper rule in the hotel rooms. it’s ok, i don’t bring slippers with me. :p
I only heard from my colleague, knock the door or press the bell before entering the room, to inform that you are going in. after opening the door, remember to move away to allow ‘them’ to come out from the room. my colleague told me other ‘rules’ too, but i can’t remember. haha~~
