When I opened up my newly bought book, I saw this barcode thingy stuck on the last page.
My first reaction was to peel it off and throw it away.
While I was doing that, I find that the ’stickiness’ is just … nice.
Not too sticky, but won’t come off easily either.
I suddenly discover a good use of this thingy.
What?
To be used as a bookmark, of course.
See how it was stuck on the edge there?
It wouldn’t block any word, as the normal bookmark would. Thus, when you flipped a page, immediately you can stick onto the next page.
And I wouldn’t lost it (I have lost more than a dozen precious bookmarks).
OMG.. I use my barcode sticker as my bookmark too! But not all barcode stickers can be peeled off easily though.
haha same here…and if i am sick of it guess wat?
i will just stick on some one sitting beside me..

I don’t like the stickiness. I prefer to fold my pages with dog ears hehe.
Usually there’s two of those bar codes / security sticker things in each book you buy from MPH. Look for it!
kekeke yeah i use them as my bookmark too, ooo sword of shannara, i bought the whole series until the merger with the running with the demon series, i didn’t find the other range nice to read.
I think i have almost all the shannara books

Isn’t the barcode supposed to be removed at the cashier’s? Otherwise the beeps will go off when you walk out of the store. (Apparently that didn’t happen to you!)

Wah… that is very creative! But usually, I will remember the page number or the chapter. Ha!
the bar code will be deactivated when they put it on their magnetic pad in the cashier counters, that’s why they say please do not place credit card here.
Anyhow, the series are quite alot, sword is definately the first one to go, a bit long winded though. But LOTR is much much more long winded.
I’m looking at Bernard Cornwell’s books now the Sharpe series, it’s british military based fiction. 1 book and i’m hooked now trying to find the other books, but MPH doesn’t have any, Borders have them but expensive, and haven’t checked Kinokuniya yet.
I never use that before, perhaps I haven’t encounter a ‘just-nice-sticky’ barcode thingy before. :p
I usually use any namecard or paper as my bookmark, a traditional kind of bookmark.
