She deserves 2nd chance?

After some interviews, I decided to let this girl try out the job.

For the first day, it passed uneventfully.

She agreed to come to work on Monday, 12 noon. (for her 2nd day of work)

Alas. Come 12 noon Monday, we didn’t see any sign of her arrival. By the end of the business day, we see or heard naught from her.

she deserves 2nd chance

On Tuesday, she finally turn up, unexpectedly!

According to her, her bus was delayed till 3pm, thus she couldn’t turn up for work.

More importantly, (apparently) she lost her phone during the Hari Raya huuhaa, and thus explained she couldn’t have called to explain her ’sudden disappearance’.

Would you be kind enough to give her a 2nd chance?

Or would you say : Thank you for your service, byebye?

hmm, i think me more cruel..there’s public phone, there’s other phone..there’s yellow pages to find out ur clinic no, call someone to call u…whatever it is, she should at least make a call when she ALREADY know she cant make it in time to work. no sense of responsibility or urgency one?

    Haha! Goodbye for me.

I would agree with LM. Monitor for a week or so. Sometimes she might be sincere as well. Public phone? Hah! You’ll be lucky if you can find one that’s working well. Yellow pages at public phone? It’s unheard of nowadays.

I know. I was one once. Very cham one when you lost your phone, you can’t remember phone no, looking for a working public phone in KL and late for an appointment!

    一点责任感也没有,
    更糟糕的是没有交代,
    我最讨厌没有交代的..

    所以,
    我会跟她说拜拜!

hmmmmm…..well give her a second chance, she’d still be under probation for at least 3 to 6 months right? you still have a chance to 24 hour termination for probation staff.

A very irresponsible start. If her expression sound convincing, I’ll give her a week to try. If ok, then she can continue. Else out of the door~

Pretty or not? Hehe… just kidding. I think can give 2nd chance if the excuse she gives turns out to be true, but you must make it very clear. Must call you if not reporting to work even if using public phone. Cannot repeat again. Must deduct one day of salary.
