I got a letter from MPPJ today.
Tell me what you think of this.

Is this a democractic country?
They dictate when we have to paint the building. They even dictate the colour we have to use.
Going a step further, they even ‘politely suggest’ the place we should source the paint.
What is this?
It stinks! Big time.

tsk tsk tsk..only know how to telan money…this ppl ah..mou tak sam ah..haha well…quite stupid to have one whole row of shop same colour…nah..urs is ok…my dad’s shop they ask to buy same type same colour of tong sampah that can fit human being inside…lol
yealor… later macam the sarawak that technical school de case, one can of paint sell rm200… tawaran konon!!!
say want paint then paint lar aiyor wad for wan limit wad color somemore = =”
This kind of incident only happen in Malaysia… We should be proud of it…
Sounds more like a forced painting than a beautification programme.
Well if you leave it to ppl’s taste, you never know what kalar the building would be right, imagine one orange, one pink, one red kalar lidat then how?
hehe..the council here also lidat wan! they’re all the same
michelle Sigh
conancat I suspect they will just sell us substandard cat at premium price
didi You are patriotic
jonzz Sounds like a scandal
Firehorse As if we will do that? What kind of business area will do that?
wuching Sigh.
This is terrible. If they insist so much, they should be the ones doing the painting and bearing the cost.
Do you think an email to Jeff Ooi or Lim Kit Siang will get to the bottom of this?
I for one think it is rather a good thing. Taking a que from Singapore, they have a policy to repaint all the HDB flats every 5 years using the monthly service fee paid by the tenants. It give a very clean and comfortable look to where they live everyday.
I also totally agree uniformed colours for all the buildings i.e. houses in the same row. It will rather look like a sore thumb if one decides to paint his house bright chili red while the rest painted a cool green.
As long as they are not charging RM300 per can of paint, I guess it is reasonable to source the paint from the suggested source as they might want to get a uniform kind of shades of paint. I just guess only.
There are many blood suckers in the goverment, but I do happen to know as well many bumis that are honest and work hard on a goverment tender. Just hope that this one is one of them.
The paint got colour coding one ma…just tell us the code la..who we want to buy it from is up to us..Why must buy it from THAT specific person jek?
Well…. they normally have this to ensure that buildings look presentable. In most councils, in most countries anyway. And, also quite normal for them to suggest their supplier…. after all, someone has to make money right? Just not the unlucky owners. Hee hee……
Don’t angry la….come…I will order some Him Heang next time for u..ok?
Adino I can bear the cost, just that I should decide the colour and the source
kok hon That is so backward. HDB is different, as it is government own.
To ask everyone to paint the same colour, is moving backward, not forward.
Eve Exactly. The next thing you know, they will ask you to change your roof, and give you the supplier as well.
mott Angry or not, I still want your dao sa biang
Haiks.. can they really do taht arr?!?
cbenc12 thanks for coming to my blog.
I dunno ^-^
I don’t agree with the part where they specify the supplier where you need to get the paints from - sounds like some dirty deals been made there. After all, after they specified the colour, you should have the choice to buy the paint from wherever you wish.
But I do actually agree with the theory of this - not every landlord cares about looking after their building. You look at many places where such regulations are not in place - dirty run down commercials blocks still in operations.
Jewelle Welcome to my blog.
Yup. They should let us choose, instead of forcing us to buy from them
