Ipoh Trip (part 1)

When we reached Ipoh, I visited my parents.

Then we proceeded to ??? for lunch.

Why this place? This restaurant is famous for its ?? (hor hee), rojak, popiah…

The usual scene in this restaurant is : crowded.

Fear not. You should proceed to the back where there is a staircase which lead upstairs! Now you can have some quiet time while enjoying your meal.

I brought my brother-in-law there. The first thing that strike him is … wah …. antique.

You can even see those ‘wooden flooring’ from the old days.

Unique, eh?

Of course, we ordered the rojak, popiah, hor hee, and ?????(brown sugar eggs?)

For those who had not tasted hor hee in Ipoh, you should definitely tried it. Then only you will know the proper soup for “Ipoh Hor Fun”. The usual Ipoh Hor Fun you tasted outside Ipoh is plain … lying.

The popiah of course should not be miss too. It was the old famous popiah from ‘old Ipoh’ which was later relocated here.

I very seldom go upstairs of “Loke Hui Kui” because I can’t be bothered, hahah.. I used to go there to eat “wan ton mee” and “chee cheong fun” in the mornings because my Grandpa’s shop is just two streets away (Cockman Street, near Super Kinta).

But I now prefer Old Town’s “chee cheong fun” with mushroom gravy. *yum*
