I bought my house in March 2006.
Since then, I have been calling my lawyer every two month, to ask for the Title of my house.
Invariably the answer will be : The Land Office is still holding onto it. That is the usual case.
After 15 months of waiting, I got so tired of it. I complaint to the Prime Minister Department about it. The lady who handled it promise to look into it, if I can get her the file number.
I called my lawyer again, to confirm that the land office is still procrastinating, and my lawyer can’t do anything about it. To my surprise, my lawyer said that the Title is already available, and he would call me shortly for me to collect it.
Another two weeks had gone by, but I received no call from my lawyer! Can you believe it?
I called up the firm. The lawyer is not available (yet again), but the receptionist is kind enough to ask if she can help me. She promise to call me back in half an hour, after looking into my file.
I actually got a call from her half an hour later.
This is what she said: Sir, I am afraid we have already posted the thing to your house, in July 2006!
What? What the … ? When did I ever receive such thing?
Me: I never received it at all. You think you can send me another copy?
She replied: I am afraid THAT mail we sent to you, is the original copy.
Damn…. They actually send original copy through our postman?
Me: Now what?
She think for a while, then replied: I will check if the mail had been return to us. Then I will deliver it to you again.
Me: If you ever find it, just give me a call. I will pick it up personally. Don’t send through postman.
Wow. You can say that I am anxious. Damn it. I waited 15 months for nothing? All the while, even after the postman had sent the mail to me, the lawyer still say : Land Office is holding onto it?
What kind of lawyer is that?
What a bloodsucka. However we still need these bloodsucka to cover our asses from being blood sucked by other blood sucka. No wonder there are so much lawyer jokes.

Was this lawyer recommended by those free legal fee packages? The last time I buy house there was this lawyer guy who keep staring at me, and invite me out for dinner *gulp*. Not saying I very handsome-la, but still weird you know?

Luckily my lawyers are also my friends. They are very helpful and meticulous in their cases. I have heard quite a number of cases of abuse by other lawyers. I am lucky lor.

Yeah. No chance I will visit this lawyer for a second time
I been through the same shit here, the developer just told me that the land title will not be available so soon, not too surprise if it would only be done for the next 3-5 yrs. 0_o
They said they can’t do nthing abt, it is Land N Survey who do the business…..
