During the bloggers’ meet, I suddenly realised that one of my (former) teacher actually IS one of the blogger’s sister. Wow. Such a small world, considering I am not even from KL.
This brings back quite a bit of memories. I think I would like to write a few posts about my teachers.
Lets start with primary school. (and start with good memories)

I was never a good student in Primary School. Or rather, I was never a good student up to 15 years old of life.
I am either labelled as “too talkative” or “inattentive”. (Probably I would have been sent to for pyschological assessment, if it existed then, haha)
During classes, I would like to ask questions. Mind you, Asian teachers 25 years ago generally don’t like you to ask many questions, even though they said: Any questions?
I still remember one of the questions I ask when I was in Standard 5, during one of the Kesihatan (Health) subject.
Teacher: Any question?
Me raised hand.
Teacher: Yes, what is the question?
Me: Teacher, how many tubes are there from our mouth into the stomach?
Teacher: Only one, obviously.
Me: Then why sometimes when we talk and swallow, it feels like the rice had gone into the airway? I cough cough and it comes out through my nose!
Teacher: Then probably there are two tubes going separate way.
Me: Then why when I drink, the water doesn’t end up in my lung?
Teacher : …………… You SIT DOWN !

i remember in darjah enam after exam scripts for sains were given back to us, a few questions were marked wrongly.
the more vocal ones (maybe like you lah..) argued with cikgu until she cried. oops…
Phil, thanks for coming here.
Err… I am never vocal when it comes to exam.
To me, a few marks in exam never make me argue with teacher, as it is just not worth it.
Well, but there is a student in my class who ALWAYS do that.
You reminds me of a secondary classmate, she would asks all kinds of questions. All the teachers were not too keen on that. It was quite entertaining to watch. Haha.
You put the teacher to shame la..she dunno the answer ma..samo u go n push her further…kakakkakakkaka…
cc And you all didn’t stop her?
eve That was never my intention. A kid is a kid. He only know to ask question ma.
So who did you approach to get the answer eventually? ( your dad, or you read it up or ask another teacher) Did that experience deter you from asking further?
Just me I have totally forgotten about it. Until many years later I read it in text book.
Nah. I guess you know my character : Persistent
hahaha… so typical of Asian teachers. I have never encountered such teachers in my school life because I’m the one whom teachers like to call to answer questions. I dislike talking and most of the time would be reading story books.
She was unstoppable. Ha.
ECL Haha. You are like most highschool students now, couldn’t be bothered
cc O.o
We’ve made a few teachers cry too. But more teachers smile
My primary school day, i never ask anything…
Until secondary school then only i ask on my most likes subjects…
Ah, I veri scared when teacher ask, “any questions?” esp during maths lesson..Teacher:”any questions?” no hands, no answer, then she went, “ok, all no questions right? then understand already right? ok, lets hv someone come up to do this question no. 12 on page 20..” Alamak! now all classmates and me become like turtle, head down down, praying “dont ask me to go, dont ask me to go..” hahaha
Bernard With your shining record, I guess those teachers are smiling because of you.
didi Haha. You are the ‘most of us’
winniethepooh Ever volunteer yourself?
No way yenjai, maths is my WORST subject!
