I went back to Ipoh yesterday. It was for my sister’s housewarming.
Housewarming? True to the word. Ipoh was SO warm, much more than Petaling Jaya.
Worst still is, the house is facing the afternoon sun. In the evening when everybody gathered in the living room, it felt like we are being roasted.
After the relatives left, we went up to the master bedroom to rest. This only made it worst. The walls were literally emanating heat, from the evening sun.
Two hours in the room were all we can stand. I left the house at 1.30am, drove back to Petaling Jaya.
Back to my cool house.
Hmm…Should design a house for cooling. We have learnt it in uni about these. A lot of things can be done actually. Need a thorough search in the internet:)

Kok, my own house, cooling is not a problem.
It is actually quite cooling, due to the split level design.
Now the problem is sound proofing my room.
The dogs opposite our house are driving us crazy.
What can be done?

ahhong, the design of the house plays a very important part in it.
I will let the engineers here eloborate.
A properly design house can easily bring the temperature down 2 degree celcius, without aircon.
aiyo…pasang aircon je la…it’s realli not worth the increase pulse rate n blood pressure …
to ah hong,
very important point when selecting/design your house,
1) facing direction
2) color of the wall
3) ceiling
4) curtain
5) tree (if possible)
by cooling down 2 degree , you can save some money on electric bill (reduce air con usage)
Looks like as we travel north, the temperature increases.Gee, it will be one hot Chinese New Year then….reminding myself to pack more sleeveless blouses

Sound proof ah? Hmm…is your house quite empty (with small amount of furniture and stuff)? And is your house carpetted?
The easiest way is stuff few pieces of meat with rat’s poison and throw it opposite your house. I guess after that, there won’t be any noises around. haha! Of course, don’t do that.

Cool! I didn’t know color of the wall, curtain & ceiling can cool down the temperature. I gotta consider repainting my wall in future. :p
Ipoh is warmer than KL? I gotta go back to hometown this week, gotta suffer from the HEAT, especially go visiting relatives during Chinese New Year. *faint*
