2) Though most will know me as ‘Ipoh boy’, I was born in Ayer Tawar. Do you know where is this place?

My house was in Kampong Changkat Kruing. I lived there from birth until 7 years old.

Yeah, yeah. No idea where is this place? Let me show you a map.

Haha. Ok. Ok. It is ‘near Sitiawan’.

It was a realllly tiny village. We had a big land. I used to fly kite there during windy season. Many kites had been lost as other kids always ‘cut’ my kites (if you know what I mean).

Obviously there was no cinema in such a remote area. Once in a couple of months, someone (no idea who that was) will bring a big screen (bigger than the screen in cinema) and a projector. We will all congregate on the field and watch the movie being shown on screen.

So you can imagine the surprise of me, when years later, there was this hip city lady friend of mine who invite me for an ‘event which I had never tried in my life’ which later turn out to be ala Starlight Cinema. I was like …. huh? Like when I was a kid in the village? What is the surprise?

Been there, done that. (no T-shirt to prove it though)

What reminded me the olden days goodies that sold during such events .. e.g. steamed groundnuts, ding-ding candy, sugar floss

I was so excited when I saw the auntie selling those steamed groundnuts at some highway stopoever in M’sia. I ended a few bags! ;)
