How do you give a name to the towns in Malaysia?
Kuala Lumpur, obviously is from its geographical location. Taiping is one of the few with a chinese name, literally meaning peace.
Some of the names, though, left you scratching your head.
I always smile when I passed by these few particular towns between Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur.
Tell me, what do you think was in the mind of the person naming these few towns? If not mistaken, you will passby these towns in this sequence:
- Janda Baik
- Lembah Beringin
- Batang Berjuntai
Names of places might have historical backgrounds to them.

Beringin means “fig”. I dunnno about the rest, worr. Mertajam and Ipoh are trees.
