This is something which I can’t understand even though I have been using an automatic teller machine (ATM) for years.

When it prompt me to input the amount I need to withdraw, I obediently press 100.
The amount displayed will be RM 1.00
Why had the programmer done it this way?
We can’t withdraw anything less than RM1, right?
So if we press 1, it should be RM1, not RM0.01
Why all the redundant pressing on the automatic teller machine?
Can someone care to enlighten me?

ha…really?
never encounter before…..
On the bank’s ATM that we use you don’t have to hit enter after you put in your pin - you get used to that and then when you go to other ATMs you stand there like an idiot waiting for it do something without realising that you need to hit enter.
Don’t know why but that is the system practised by my ATM machine also. To avoid this inconvenience, just press “fast cash” which already has the designated amount, like RM 500, RM 1000 etc. This is what I do
Well, try having a machine with a sticky 0 button and before you know it, instead of withdrawing 100, I end up withdrawing 1000. These atm’s should get rid of all those extra 00000……
And it would really be nice to see a machine actually tell me I can withdraw a thousand bucks
ya, i saw the same thing too…
currently they have change the screen interface, and it will show you name after you input your password.
hmm…. why the programmers didn’t take this into consideration? Yeah, I dont like that idea too… it should be more user-friendly, right? :p
Or, the banking system is still quite out-dated.
