Which fruit do you associate with Ipoh town?
Pomelo, of course.

This lass decided to help her granny at their pomelo stall during her school holidays.
Sadly, such stalls which used to be one of the talking points of Ipoh, are slowly but surely disappearing.

yeah, I didn’t know about these “pretty gals” helping to sell pamelo thingy, until my KL friends asked me about it.
I still buy pamelo in Tambun, instead of those ‘tourist spots’. :p
At least they dress more decently compare to ‘ping lang xi shi’ in taiwan
well, I still remember, when I was young, a stop at one of these stalls selling pamelo is a “must do thing” whenever we go Ipoh, or just passing by…
Now, things change, I dont like the Pamelo stalls now, they changed so much until I dont recognize them.
To yenjai:
yeah, they dress more proper, but also they are not as pretty as those ‘xi shi’ in taiwan. :p
To eric:
Pamelo stalls in Tambun are still the same as years ago. haha~~
go and see whether you can recognize them or not. :p
kaka. I don’t think they are any less pretty.
I think the difference is they make up very differently.
nowadays we tend to bypass the stall ‘cos we’re in a rush traveling on the PLUS highway. it’s good to stop and smell the roses along the way a little bit? or taste some pamelos?
Quote from CARS (disney):
In the old days, the cars doesn’t (travel to) make good time.
They travel to have a good time.
