When our children stay up till 3am in the morning, glued infront of their PC, doing MSN / First-Person-Shoot-Up game, and having to go to school groggily, we scold them.
When they stay up continously for the next five days, we are looking for counsellors.
If they do it for continously 10 days, teachers will start calling the parents, saying that their children are doing very poorly in school, not paying attention in class, and threatened to suspend them. The parents are looking up yellow pages, for addiction centres around their neighbourhood.
Look at the parents now. Staying up till 4am (or even 5am), continously for more than ONE MONTH ! They still think it is ok. They go around bragging that they stay up until the wee hours.
This is because the ADVERTISERS say it is alright? So who are we to resent people who go for branded handbag and shoes?
This is because our COLLEAGUE say it is alright? Peer pressure? Now, are the parents in highschool?
Who are we to scold our children?

i think it is inappropriate to make comparison between adults and kids?
You are talking as if there is no need to lead by example?
You can smoke and you tell your kid not to smoke?
The society and the reference groups ‘induce’ the situation too.
Because, not many can walk-the-talk. It is a skill, a commitment and a discipline! The question is, how to good an example the now-a-days parents can offer to their children?
Used to stay up very late during our school days playing Panzer General etc. , remember? OK, OK those were U days, right.
Be a good example. Don’t watch
hahaha… That’s a joke.
Bernard, haha, don’t tell your son
